Three strategies. One slate. No hindsight.

An NFL daily-fantasy research experiment from Chaos Goblin Development Studios. Three lineup strategies attack the same slate. Picks are frozen before kickoff. Then we keep the receipts.

01 / Overview

A serious experiment.
With a goblin in the lab.

Fantasy Oracle is a research system for constructing and evaluating NFL DraftKings lineups using multiple strategic approaches.

It combines salary and position constraints, external projections, football context, and strategy-specific optimization.

The purpose of the 2026 season is not to advertise wins. It is to determine what actually works.

“If the Oracle embarrasses itself, we keep the receipt.”

02 / Competing arms

Three ways to attack
the same slate.

Not pricing tiers. Not three versions of the same answer. Three experimental arms with distinct objectives.

01

FLOOR / STABILITY

Protect the floor.

Favors stability and lower-volatility projected production while respecting the salary cap.

Controlled · Stable · Disciplined
02

BALANCED / BENCHMARK

Take the points.

Pursues the strongest conventional projected lineup available under the salary cap.

Precise · Technical · Neutral
03

CHAOS_GOBLIN / UPSIDE

Weaponize correlation.

Accepts additional variance when useful stacking, correlation, and upside justify it.

Correlated · Opportunistic · Governed

Chaos is a strategy, not an excuse.

03 / The experiment

Build the lineup.
Freeze the claim.

Every week follows the same visible sequence. Football gets the final word.

  1. 01

    Ingest

Salary data, projections, and relevant football context.

  2. 02

    Evaluate

Three strategies attack the same slate differently.

  3. 03

    Freeze

    Recommendations are captured before kickoff.

  4. 04

    Play

    Football happens. Models acquire humility.

  5. 05

    Score

    Compare expectations against real results.

  6. 06

    Learn

Keep what works. Question what doesn’t. Improve the next iteration.

The losses count too.

04 / Instrumentation

What enters the lab.

Inputs are introduced and validated as the research program develops. Not every factor is active in every experiment.

05 / Validation season

Validation in progress

Built in public.
Judged by Sundays.

2026 is a closed real-world validation season using actual NFL slates and actual pre-game information.

Recommendations are frozen before games. Results are evaluated afterward. The methodology is allowed to evolve prospectively, but historical recommendations are not rewritten.

07 / Research integrity

No hindsight.
Plenty of receipts.

Fantasy Oracle doesn’t get to rewrite history when football disagrees with it. Inputs and recommendations are captured before kickoff. Corrections create new evidence rather than silently changing the old record. The point is to learn whether the methodology works—not manufacture a winning screenshot.
